The Art Institute of Chicago’s New Modern Wing is a 264,000 square-foot, 3-story addition designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano. It houses 60,000 square-feet of new galleries that are dedicated to the museum’s world-renowned collections of modern European painting and sculpture, contemporary art, architecture and design, and photography. The wing also includes temporary exhibition space, the two-story Griffin Court and the Ryan Education Center. The wing is registered for LEED “Silver” certification.
